VPNUPS / SETUP GUIDE

VPNUPS Subscription and Connection Guide

Set up your account, plan, subscription, and client in that order, then verify the connection by checking actual access. Use the contents below to skip steps you’ve already completed.

ACCOUNT / Account setup

Create an Account and Save Your Login Details

Open the VPNUPS user dashboard, set a username and password, and follow the on-screen instructions to create your account. No email address is required; you can create an account with just a username and password. Choose a username you can easily recognize, and avoid reusing a password from another site. Before submitting, save your login details in a trusted password manager. You’ll need them to sign in on other devices, view orders, and get your subscription.

After creating your account, open the user dashboard. If you’re taken to a sign-in page, log in with the username and password you just saved. First, make sure your account overview opens correctly, then choose a plan. Account creation and plan activation are separate steps: being able to sign in does not mean you have available data or an active client connection.

If you already have an account, sign in to it and check your plan and orders. There’s no need to create another account just to reinstall a client. Check orders and subscriptions separately for each account so you don’t import a subscription from a different account and mistake it for an order that hasn’t been activated. Once your account is ready, decide how much data you need and which billing option suits you.

PLAN / Choose a plan

Review Your Plan and Order Status

Open the plans section of the dashboard and compare monthly subscriptions with data packages. Monthly subscriptions are suited to regular use: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB, ¥18/month includes 250GB, and ¥28/month includes 500GB. Data resets monthly on your activation date. Reset dates don’t follow a single calendar schedule, so check the cycle shown in your account when reviewing your balance. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days.

If your usage varies, compare the data packages: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. Package data doesn’t expire and remains available until used, unlike monthly subscriptions, which reset each month. Don’t compare only the price: consider whether you prefer data on a recurring cycle or a balance you can use over time. See the plans page for full pricing and details.

Once you’ve chosen a plan, check its name, data allowance, and total due on the order page, then follow the payment steps shown in the dashboard. VPNUPS accepts Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. Follow the instructions on the current payment page. After paying, return to the dashboard and check your order status and account overview. Closing the payment page doesn’t necessarily mean the order is complete; rely on the confirmation in your dashboard.

If the order status hasn’t updated, first make sure you’re signed in to the account used to place it, then check the order details. Don’t submit the same order repeatedly. VPNUPS offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund; see the Terms of Service for eligibility and instructions. Once the plan is active and your account shows available data, continue to the subscription setup.

SUBSCRIPTION / Configuration source

Get Your Subscription from the Account Overview

Open the account overview in the user dashboard and find the subscription details and import options. A subscription isn’t the name of a particular route; it’s the source from which the client retrieves route configurations. Import it into your client to load the available routes. Installing the app without importing a configuration usually isn’t enough to connect.

If the dashboard offers an import option for your client, you can use it after installing the client and allow your browser to open the appropriate app. If no compatible app appears, or you have multiple clients installed, copying the subscription link makes it easier to confirm which app you’re using. Copy the link, switch to the client, and add it from the subscription or configuration page. Don’t paste it into a form for manually adding a single route.

Before adding the subscription, check that the clipboard contains the complete link, with no extra instructions, spaces, or line breaks. Don’t paste the link into a search engine, public chat, or third-party conversion site. Treat it as sensitive information, just like your account credentials. If you send a screenshot to support, hide the full link and any tokens in it.

This guide doesn’t show real subscription links or provide public configurations you can use. Always get your current subscription from your own account overview; don’t substitute a sample value from another page. If no routes appear after importing, first check the configuration update and plan status. See the subscription update troubleshooting section in the troubleshooting guide; you don’t need to uninstall the client right away.

CLIENT / Import by platform

Install a Client and Import Your Configuration

Go to the client downloads section in the dashboard and choose the VPNUPS client for your operating system. Sign in to get the client for Windows, macOS, Android, or Linux. To get your subscription, sign in to the dashboard. The iOS download link requires an active plan. Installing the client and authorizing a subscription are separate steps, so check the import and connection after installation.

Windows: Import a Subscription and Set Up the System Proxy

Use the Windows desktop client provided in the dashboard. After installing and opening it, find the “Configuration” or “Subscription” page and choose the relevant option, such as “Add” or “Import from link.” Paste the subscription link copied from your account overview and save it. If you use one-click import from the dashboard, make sure your system opens the client you intend to use, not another app left on your device.

Wait for the update to finish, then check that the configuration and route list have loaded and select the configuration you just imported. This only loads the configuration; you still need to choose a route on the connection page, connect, and enable the system proxy if needed. Some apps don’t follow the system proxy, so successful browser access alone doesn’t mean all desktop apps are connected. Verify the browser first, then check the network settings of any specific app.

macOS: Select a Configuration and Allow Network Access

Use the macOS desktop client provided in the dashboard. Follow the system prompts to install it, then open the app. Add the remote subscription from the configuration manager or subscription list, paste the link, save it, and update. After it loads, check that the new configuration is active. If the app still has an older configuration, seeing the new name doesn’t mean you’ve switched to it.

When you select a route and connect, macOS may ask you to approve network configuration or related permissions. Make sure the prompt comes from the client you’re using, then allow it if needed. If the app moves to the menu bar, check the connection status and system proxy settings there. Closing the main window doesn’t necessarily disconnect you. To stop using the service, disconnect explicitly in the client and check the proxy status.

Android: Add a Subscription and Confirm the System Connection

Use the Android mobile client provided in the dashboard. After installing it, add the link from the subscription or configuration page, or use the dashboard’s import option if the client supports it. Save and update, then wait for the route names and configuration to load before returning to the connection page to choose a route. If the link isn’t recognized, check that you haven’t opened the option for manually adding a single route.

The first time you connect, Android may ask you to confirm the VPN connection. Check the app name, then allow it. After connecting, test the service in your browser and check that the connection is still active when you return to the client. If problems occur only after the screen is off or the app has been in the background for a while, check the system’s background activity and battery restrictions for the app. For more help, see the troubleshooting guide; there’s no need to reset all your configurations first.

iOS: Download the Client and Choose an App to Import the Subscription

Sign in to an account with an active plan, open the downloads section, and use the iOS client link provided in the dashboard to go to the App Store. Install the app as instructed. If the dashboard says you need an active plan, return to your account overview and check your status. Don’t look for installation files from unverified sources. Check download access and whether the client is installed as two separate things.

Open the client and add your account subscription from the subscription, configuration, or import-from-link menu. If you import via the dashboard, check which app opens to receive the subscription. If you paste the link manually, save and update the configuration before selecting it. When connecting, allow the VPN configuration if prompted by iOS, then check the status in the client. If you have other VPN apps on your device, make sure this configuration is the one currently active to avoid multiple apps taking over the connection.

VERIFY / Check the results

Connect to a Route and Verify Access

Once the subscription is imported, choose a route that meets the target service’s regional requirements, then connect. VPNUPS covers 120+ countries / 220+ routes; the available options depend on the current dashboard and client list. For your first setup, keep the client’s default routing rules to make it easier to check that the connection works. Don’t change proxy mode, DNS, and app network settings all at once.

A “connected” status in the client only means the app has entered that state; you still need to verify that requests are taking the expected route. Open a browser and visit an international site you plan to use. Check that you can load the page, sign in, and continue. With rule-based routing, some sites may connect directly by design, so their access results alone can’t show whether the proxy is working.

If a website works in your browser but an app doesn’t, check whether the app follows the system proxy, has its own proxy settings, and is covered by the client’s current rules. Streaming and AI services may also be subject to account region, service policies, and access requirements. A working network connection doesn’t guarantee that every feature will be available. See our streaming access guide and AI tools access guide for details.

If you still can’t access the service, check these in order: local network, plan status, subscription updates, route availability, and proxy settings. After switching routes, repeat the same test without changing anything else so you can identify what made a difference. For frequent disconnections, failed subscription updates, or DNS issues, follow the symptom-specific steps in the troubleshooting guide.

For help, open the support ticket section from the dashboard. Include your device’s operating system, client name, selected route, when the issue occurred, and the exact error. Attach screenshots with your credentials hidden. Don’t send your password or full subscription link. Once you’ve verified the connection, note your current configuration and route. For everyday use, open the client, confirm the configuration, and connect; you don’t need to import the subscription again each time.
